Madison Shambaugh is a remarkable young woman.  I knew from the moment I met her that she would become a powerful voice for ethical, compassionate training of horses – and other animals.  I told her early on that she was the best advocate for including positive reinforcement in equines, because she leads by example.  Her horses are polite around food, and will do complicated behaviors with precision and joyful enthusiasm.

Here are just a few of the exciting things we will be discussing:

  • Empowering Your Horse Through Choice

  • Learning to listen: Developing an eye

    for your horse’s natural ‘No’

  • Building two-way communication via Start Signals, End Signals, and Anchor Behaviors

  • Moving with energy cycles vs fighting them

  • The art of balancing behaviors, and how
to return the horse to a state of harmony

  • Clear guidelines to know when to ask

for more and when you are asking for too much or not enough

  •  Bringing lightness to any horse

  • How to give the horse a sense of control over pressure in order to promote relaxation

  • The art of quieting your language to a whisper

  • The ethics of using pressure & release

Madison is an eternal student – and her success with wild mustangs was just the start.  She’s digging in deep to the psychology and neurology of horses and humans.  You don’t want to miss my conversation with her!

Observe and ask questions as Madison coaches a few students during the session.
