Strategy #4: Treats at Close Range- Teach your horse where you'd like them positioned to receive the treat. In the lesson with Lakota, the position is a relaxed, nose away position. 

David mentioned Scan and Capture during the lesson. Here's the definition of this training technique: Waiting for the behavior to occur on its own, reinforce it and put it on cue.
